Lichfield
Installation of a total of 368 paddocks fully serviced by an automated irrigation system, including 38 main lines. Water control lines were laid to every valve & irrigated paddock & both PVC & HDPE mains pipe, air release & pressure relief valves inserted on all main lines; plus 65 no. of 250mm mainway valves, bermad valves and pressure control tubing, inclusive of manholes, lids & trapdoor utilities.
The methodology was a mixture of HDD and open cut pipelines utilizing various sized drilling plant, plus chain trenchers, with these ranging in size from 3.5 Tonne to 33 Tonne machines. With a tight timeframe of one year, high Fonterra standards and controls were adhered to with planning and precision; the project was completed one month ahead, and on budget.
Horitiu
Installation of all services and utilities for a new Dairy Manufacturing Site. Various methodologies were applied pertaining to HDD and Open Cut layered Trench installations. Open Cut installations including in ground installations covering all in ground services and amenities terminating at exact points, some to within (+/- 1mm). Working to specific deadlines Smythe Contractors achieved all scoped work including compliance and quality (testing) within the specified time frame. This project was to cater for proposed future plant development.
Detailed management plans including Asbestos Management were required, as was high accuracy levels of relocation, achieved within the tight timeline.
A challenging project where Smythe Contractors were working to tight deadlines with concrete being poured on schedule behind the in-ground works requiring a workmanship quality second to none as testing (pressure) had to be done after the concrete was poured there were no rework requirements. Smythe Contractors flexibility on-site was a valuable asset, when other parts of the main project were stalling Smythe Contractors were called upon to help out and still the completed scoped work was completed on schedule and within budget.
